One of the Nation's most popular wildlife artists, Randy McGovern has created "Time Out," using our Rescue dogs as study. With his fanatical attention to detail and skill as a painter, Randy has become a world-renowned bird, fish and wildlife artist who has successfully further ventured into the realm of capturing "Man's Best Friend" . Working in precise detail in oil, he attempts to capture each animal in its natural habitat, with an endearing background and a rich use of light.

Randy is famous for hiding smaller animals within the portraits of larger ones. About 95% of Randy's prints have hidden creatures and his pictures can contain up to 10 hidden animals. Not only does this gentleman have a passionate talent for his brush, he has cleverly devised a fun way to teach us how to really look into a painting , experience the depth of the work, and enjoy the challange of seeking out every brush stroke in quest for those little critters he hides.

I met Randy at the Florida State Fair over 3 years ago. I spent over an hour at his booth just looking over his work and observing the commitment and heart he puts into his art. I recognized a talent in Randy that could paint Bostons and show their true personality. While taking a break, I approached Randy about doing a Boston piece and helping to support Boston Terrier Rescue. He was warm to the idea, but had many commissions and commitments to complete, and was unsure if Boston Prints would sell. I assured him that they would certainly sell because 'Boston People ' are true fanatics and good Boston artwork is scarce.

I began to collect pictures of rescue dogs at play over the next 6 months, and went into my picture achieve of past rescue dogs. Choosing the spirit of the dogs carefully, and giving a good example of the colors, and a variety of coat patterns of the bostons, Randy ended up with over 150 photos to work with. Then I received a phone call from Randy announcing he had almost completed with the piece, and was being pressured to finish as it was already stirring quite an interest at the exhibits/shows he was at.
