Can you help us provide care for these dogs? We cannot do it alone. These are the cast-offs, the problems that other people couldn't, or wouldn't take care of. We are willing to make the effort, but our funds can only go so far. Our volunteers are ready and willing to provide care for these little ones during their treatments, and throughout their recoveries... however long that may be. They are all un-paid volunteers, and many of them will lose hours, and hours of their own time transporting their charges back and forth to the Vets offices for treatments, and follow-up visits. They will lose sleep and give up their social lives to be available to soothe them, and medicate them exactly when their meds are due. They are doing what others can't, but the funds have to come from those of you out there who care enough to want to be part of their recoveries, too! Please send whatever you can, no amount is too small every little bit helps. If you can only sent $5, and then maybe next month another $5, please do so! If you can send a bit more, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Remember, we can't do it without you. Please help us to help the little ones who can't help themselves. I'd like to introduce a few of them to you...

Name: Clancy
Age: 5 weeks
Gender: Intact Male
Weight: 0 Pounds
Vaccinations: Current
Heartworm: Negative
Housebroken: No
Crate Trained: No
Microchipped: Yes
At a mere 2 1/2 lbs. he was found just thrown into a trash bin down in Miami, covered with ticks, and with a horrible bacterial infection literally eating through the surface of both eyes causing some very painful ulcers. The ulcer in his left eye was so deep that it "burst" through late Saturday night, and we don't know yet if he will lose sight in it yet. It was so painful for him, and it nearly broke my heart to hear him cry with the pain of it..! No baby should ever have to endure this kind of pain...!! We need your help in order to be able to help him.........

Name: Bella
Age: 3 yrs.
Gender: Intact Female
Weight: 20 Pounds
Vaccinations: Current
Heartworm: Negative
Housebroken: Yes
Crate Trained: Yes
Microchipped: Yes
"Bella" was picked up on the streets of Miami underweight, and in agony with a ruptured, badly infected eye & a host of internal parasites. She underwent emergency surgery to remove the injured eye, and is now resting comfortably. She is also on a month's worth of antibiotics as she tested positive for a nasty tick-bourne disease, that if not treated would have killed her. She had been reported stolen from her owner's home in Nov. of 2005 at the age of 9 mo. When we picked her up we scanned her and was able to track her owner down. Although unable to take Bella back, she gladly gave her over to Rescue in order for Bella to receive the care she so desperately needed. Are your pets microchipped yet.......??? Microchipping works.......!!!

Name: Stella
Age: 7 months
Gender: Intact Female
Weight: 15 Pounds
Vaccinations: Current
Heartworm: Negative
Housebroken: Yes
Crate Trained: Yes
Microchipped: No
Stella just came in last night......she was "bailed out" of a Petstore to save her from being returned to the breeder. Although we knew that she had luxating patellas (too shallow grooves in both rear knees) that are making life very painful for her, and she will need surgery to both knees before going ito a permanent home, we didn't know that her eye sockets were also too shallow until one of her eyes came out of its socket..!! After 24 hrs. at the emergency Vet, and surgery to put the eye in place again, we are waiting to see if she will be able to see from it at all. Here she is with Dr. Hack, the great Vet who stayed late working on her to try to save her little eye. In the meantime, since the 2nd eye socket is just as "shallow" she is scheduled to have surgery next Thursday to close down the eyelid slightly in the good eye to keep it in place so that this cannot happen to that one, too. All this needs to be done BEFORE we can even address the knee surgeries. So, if you possibly can, please send something today to help us to get these surgeries done..!!

Name: Candy
Age: 5-6 yrs
Gender: Intact Female
Weight: 6 Pounds
Vaccinations: Past Due
Heartworm: Positive
Housebroken: No
Crate Trained: Yes
Microchipped: No
As of 3-5-08 her weight was 6.1 lbs..........and now, 5-15-08 she weighs in at @ 14.4 lbs.....! Quite an improvement, isn't it..? She is still heartworm positive, but is now into the 4th week of the 2nd stage of her treatment and on so many supportive medications it would make yur head spin..! She is tolerating everything well though, and we count on your prayers & financial support to get her through this. The hookworms are now a thing of the past, but we are far from "good health" at this point. Her peridontal disease (very bad teeth) will still require intervention when we get that far...................... Her corneal ulcers are now healed over, with just a bit of scarring still visible. Her heart and lungs are still sounding okay - mostly due to all of the supportive drugs. Candy however, is no loger a very quiet girl , but is still very sweet. She was transported to the East Coast to build her up, and start her Heartworm Treatment, and will be there as a long term foster until free of the heartworms, and, with your help, ready for her forever home.

As you can see, the $260.00 adoption fee does not begin to cover the expenses that many of these dogs incur. We want to save as many of them as possible, but can't do it without your help. Please remember, any donation you make to rescue is 100% tax deductible. Anything you send goes to help the dogs. Thank you in advance for your assistance.
