Can you help us provide care for these dogs? We cannot do it alone. These are the cast-offs, the problems that other people couldn't, or wouldn't take care of. We are willing to make the effort, but our funds can only go so far. Our volunteers are ready and willing to provide care for these little ones during their treatments, and throughout their recoveries... however long that may be. They are all un-paid volunteers, and many of them will lose hours, and hours of their own time transporting their charges back and forth to the Vets offices for treatments, and follow-up visits. They will lose sleep and give up their social lives to be available to soothe them, and medicate them exactly when their meds are due. They are doing what others can't, but the funds have to come from those of you out there who care enough to want to be part of their recoveries, too! Please send whatever you can, no amount is too small every little bit helps. If you can only sent $5, and then maybe next month another $5, please do so! If you can send a bit more, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Remember, we can't do it without you. Please help us to help the little ones who can't help themselves. I'd like to introduce a few of them to you...

Name: Gideon
Age: 9 mos.
Gender: Neutered Male
Weight: 23 Pounds
Vaccinations: Current
Heartworm: Negative
Housebroken: Yes
Crate Trained: Yes
Microchipped: Yes
This little boy came into Rescue thru a local Animal Services. He was picked up with two broken back legs, lots of "road rash", and in terrible pain. Surgery was performed to reconstrict the left leg, and a cast was put of the right leg.

Both have healed beautifully, and you should see him run...!

And, as if all of that was bad enough, Gideon is profoundly deaf. The good news is that he is smart as a whip, and is currently being taught many "signs" so that he can communucate with those around him. He picks new things up at a phenomenal rate that has astounded his trainer. He will need a very secure environment, and an owner committed to fulfill his needs.

Name: Tinker
Age: 9+ yrs
Gender: Spayed Female
Weight: 15 Pounds
Vaccinations: Current
Heartworm: Positive
Housebroken: Yes
Crate Trained: Yes
Microchipped: Yes
This little "GEM" cried in fear all the way home. Not hard to understand once we got the garbage smell off of her and were able to get a good look. Tinker Is Heart Worm positive, has cataracts in both eyes, what teeth she has left are in deplorable condition, nails like cat claws, ears nasty dirty, coat thick and wiry and she is thin. Once she gains a her health, she will be treated for heart worm and her teeth addressed. In 24 hrs she is already bouncing and following the pack and knows when food is served. How quickly she recovered once she was made to feel safe and loved. She may not have 10 yrs, but she has an abundance of unconditional love and enough time to share it. A perfect little lap dog and companion, needing nothing but a chance to be loved.

Name: Louis ( pronounced LOUIE)
Age: 2+ yrs
Gender: Neutered Male
Weight: 19 Pounds
Vaccinations: Current
Heartworm: Positive
Housebroken: Yes
Crate Trained: Yes
Microchipped: Yes
Louis is another heartworm positive we have that is undergoing treatment. He is a failed adoption from another source who placed him in a home he did not fit. Louis is toy & food possessive; but is moving past it with behavior training in his foster home. He has become social with the other dogs, and plays well, but prefers to be alone with his human and snuggling. His favorite toy is a squeaky doughnut and he guards it with his life. Absolutely NO CHILDREN under 10 yrs of age, and a submissive or older dog in home would be just fine with him. Louis has 10-12 weeks before heart worm treatment is complete and he is ready for adoption. Are YOU patient enough to wait for this little Luv Bugg ?

Name: Paula
Age: 7 yrs aprox
Gender: Intact Female
Weight: 18 Pounds
Vaccinations: Current
Heartworm: Positive
Housebroken: Yes
Crate Trained: Yes
Microchipped: Yes
Paula is an MVA victim who was picked up and laid unclaimed in the shelter on pain meds until we could get her. PAULA went straight to the surgeon and underwent a long extensive surgery to repair a shattered femur. It is not known if she will heal well due to her age, but we had to try to make her whole again. Paula will be on crate rest for 6-10 weeks: UPDATE JAN 30,2012: Paula's surgery went well and although she is bored being crated, it has allowed the healing to begin. Our 2 week post-op check up was good. It appears the plates, pins, screws, and wire are holding the bone fragments in place and she is healing. We are thankful for Dr Hay, his wonderful staff who took her right away, and to God for a miracle. This was a very expensive surgery, but worth giving Paula a chance to keep her leg. Once healed we have one more bridge to cross before we are home free.

As you can see, the $300.00 adoption fee does not begin to cover the expenses that many of these dogs incur. We want to save as many of them as possible, but can't do it without your help. Please remember, any donation you make to rescue is 100% tax deductible. Anything you send goes to help the dogs. Thank you in advance for your assistance.
